You might be wondering as to what e1 means on a boiler. We are here to answer your questions.
E1 is an error code in your system that is displayed if in case the pressure of your boiler
drops and a water leak stops your system from working properly. However there are a number of other error codes
that are displayed for different reasons. For your convenience we have tried to mention all the error codes with their faults below. Have a look.
In case of your boiler displaying e1 means that there is a pressure drop that has occurred in your system.
You would need to repressurise your system for the same. Well we have mentioned the basic steps on how to repressurise your system,
but if you still face a problem, you are recommended to fall for a professional help.
Repressurise your system
You just need to follow certain easy steps in order to deal with the method of re-pressurizing.
1. Close all the vents
Before getting start with re pressurizing your boiler, check all the bleed valves on radiators and towel rails to be fully closed.
2. Search for the filling loop
In most of the boilers, they have the external filling loop that is used to top up the boiler with water and hence increases the pressure.
3. Open the filling loop
As soon as you open the filling loop, you will get to see a pressure rise. You can take a look of what is the exact pressure your boiler needs.
Commonly the boilers operate with 1.5 bars.
4. Close the filling loop
Make sure that the filling loop is completely closed. However if it is not closed it will slowly leak additional water into the boiler. This will increase
the pressure and the boiler will lockout.

Displayed when the primary water pressure is less than 0.5 bar

Possible fault.
1. Indicates that the gas supply has been interrupted, ignition has failed or the flame has not been detected.
2. Can also display in the winter if the condensate pipe of your boiler has frozen.
User action
1. Ensure that the gas supply has not been turned off, and turn the selector switch to the reset position and hold for at least 5 seconds.
If the boiler does not relight, or the code is displayed .
Regularly contact your installer or Customer Support of boiler manufacturer.
2. The boiler will switch off to protect itself.

Possible fault.
Could mean that your boiler has detected a problem but can't work out exactly what it is.
This could be because the boiler has been reset after developing a fault or because there has been an external issue,
such as a fault with the electrical supply.
User action
The boiler might have been displaying a different error code prior to resetting,
so it is useful to make a note of any error codes you see as this will help your installer identify the issue.
Call your installer or Customer Support of boiler manufacturer if E168 persists.
These help to determine if there is a problem with the boiler, gas supply or heating system and how to resolve it.
Some problems are easy to fix and you can carry out a few simple steps to do it yourself, while others need to be sorted out by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
The error code will appear on the facia display as either two or three numbers, preceded by the letter ‘E’. For example, code E133 will be displayed by 'E1'
alternating with '33'. E50 is shown as 'E' then 50.
